Typical Moroccan Cooking Workshop Experience

Duration: 2 to 4 hours
Participants: Individuals, couples, groups, and businesses.

1- Visit to the local market

Discover typical spices and ingredients (saffron, ras el hanout, olives, argan oil, etc.).

Purchase fresh produce from local merchants.

2- Introduction to Moroccan cuisine

History and influence of different cuisines (Amazigh, Andalusian, Arabic, Jewish, etc.).

Explanation of the basics of Moroccan cuisine (use of spices, cooking techniques, etc.).

3-Meal Preparation

Depending on the workshop, you may learn to cook:
-Chicken, lamb, or vegetarian tagine (preserved lemon, prunes, almonds, etc.)
-Royal couscous (traditionally steamed)
-Chicken or seafood pastilla
-Moroccan salads (zaalouk, taktouka, chermoula, etc.)
-Homemade bread baked in a traditional oven
-Moroccan pastries (gazelle horn, honey briouates, chebakia, etc.)

4-Group Tasting

Meal sharing in a typical Moroccan setting (terrace, riad, farm, kasbah, etc.).

Introduction to the mint tea ritual.
